Celebration of Rabindra Jayanti

The 156th Birth Anniversary of the World Poet and Nobel Laureate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated with great and enthusiasm by the students and teachers of the school. The celebration started with putting a beautiful flower garland on the portrait of Tagore by our honorable Principal – a gesture to pay our humble tributes to the colossus of Bengali culture. This was followed by a mellifluous Rabindra Sangeet sung by the choir group of the school. The Bengali speech delivered about the great man Tagore and the unparallel work done by him was informative and left the audience spell-bound. A few captivating poems written and composed by Tagore were recited by the children to appreciate his literary creations. Students attired in traditional sari danced elegantly to the tunes of Tagore’s composition. A rejuvenating note presented through a medley of Tagore songs accompanied by dance made everyone feel proud to be in a state where this great man was born. The various cultural programs organized by the students helped the youngsters know the contribution made by the multi-faceted genius. The Principal enlightened the audience by sharing Tagore’s achievements and encouraging everyone to learn great things in life by cultivating the excellence of Tagore’s life. The program ended with the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” sung in unison by all the members of the school.

Celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti & Bengali New Year Day

On 13th April 2017 a special morning assembly was held celebrating the 126th Ambedkar Jayanti and welcoming the Bengali New Year 1424 in a grand way. The assembly started with a morning prayer song followed by English speech that enlightened the audience about the great social reformer and politician, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. It was truly informative and equally motivating as all realized his immense contribution in the making of the Indian Constitution and also in his efforts to eradicate the social evils and uplift the standard of the dalits and the other socially backward classes.

The song “Esho Hey Baishakh” sung by the choir group of the school was enchanting and instilled in the Bengali minds the uniqueness of their Bengali culture and tradition. The Bengali recitation was equally appreciating as it touched the heart stings of all. It expressed the ardent love and gratefulness of all the Bengalis towards the great Bengali literary personalities. The Bengali speech highlighted the significance of the day in Bengal as well as Bangladesh and the way it is celebrated invoking the Almighty. The group dance students completely dresses in Bengali attire and their performance was splendid. The programme coordinators, Priyanshu & Shraboni of class IX also exposed the audience to their rich cultural heritage. The Principal shared a good plethora of knowledge about Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and also welcomed the beginning of the Bengali New Year in a happy and prosperous way.

At the culmination of the programme, the vote of thanks was delivered by Tivrata, a student of class IV. The celebration ended with the National Anthem.

Annual Sports Day

The school celebrated its Annual Sports Day with pomp & splendor. The day started with March Past of all the four Houses – Gandhi, Netaji, Raman & Tagore. After the ceremonial oath taking the torch was lit. The Sports Meet was declared ‘open’ by the Chief Guest as he addressed the special audience of students. The day consisted of track events and drill followed by flat race, the demonstration of yoga and martial arts with such style and fitness that the audience was in complete awe. The tug of war between the teachers & students added to the enjoyment.

Annual Day

One of the most celebrated events of MIS was the Annual Day Celebration, a day filled with entertainment and excitement that rocked the school, a day that provided an excellent platform for the children to unleash their talents. An eclectic mix of melodious songs, unique dance items and enthralling performances were the highlights of the day. The artistically made colourful props were a visual treat to the eyes. The real encouraging factor was the huge audience of parents who were enthralled with the performances. The stage responded with thunderous applause.

Republic Day Celebration

The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with great vigour and fervour by the students of MIS. The celebrations began with unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal followed by National Anthem. Colourful dance performances and patriotic songs added lustre to the occasion. The speech was a solemn reminder of the great martyrs and their contributions to the country which infused feelings of dedication and loyalty in the young hearts.

Celebration of International Mother Language Day

The International Mother Language Day was celebrated by the students and teachers of the school on 21st February to pay special tribute to the unfathomed love of one’s mother language. Speeches in English, Bengali, Hindi & Sanskrit were delivered to make the new generation students aware of the significance of the day and the need to preserve one’s own mother language. Group songs that were staged left the audience spell bound and truly touched their heart stings. Recitations were well narrated by the children and were undeniably appreciated by all. They showed their respect and gratitude towards their mother language through different on-stage activities. The programme drew to a close with a vote of thanks by the Principal and his inspirational speech enlightening all the importance of the very day and the need to protect one’s own language.

Farewell Ceremony of Class XII 2016-17

All the students of class XI gathered on 20th February to 2017 to bid farewell to the students of class XII ready to leave the school’s portals and step into a new world. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The ceremony started with the welcome of class XII students with a memento followed by a scintillating welcome dance performance. The programme coordinators of class XI gave the welcome speech. Mr. A. K. Khan enlightened the students with his inspirational speech. The different group songs and dances were well applauded by the audience. The solo performances also mesmerized all. Kazi Minarul Islam and Suchita Biswas of class XII thanked and appreciated all the teachers who throughout the long twelve years had always supported and guided the students to gain all the knowledge through hard work and determination. They handed over the lighted candle to the class XI students thereafter passing over all the responsibilities of the school that they had undertaken for so many years to the next batch. Class XII students also presented a card giving their heartfelt thanks to the school that has nurtured them. At the end on behalf of the entire fraternity of the school and the Management, the Principal gave the vote of thanks and showered his blessings and wishes to the board appearing aspirants and encouraged them to keep up the hard work so that they achieve a brilliant success not only in the forthcoming examination but in actual life also.
